A Shivering Response

I try to make my prompt responses like the one yesterday from Mark Aldrich, the Gad About Town — compact and self-contained, a brief yet compelling scene that hints at a deeper meaning. I like how the narrator of A Passing Shiver identifies his potential for self-destruction as he observes the sad tale of a young man struggling with addiction; the story is also a grim commentary on the uselessness of good advice.
