The Liar

Every day, as faithful as the sun rising,
He performs the duty he has promised
To the dreams of his younger self.

But after he’s done his job and returns to the home of his honesty
He can confess what he’s accomplished
)Today, just like every other day(
Was undertaken to reinforce the self-made bars
Of his solitude.

Resting his head upon a pillow,
The liar falls into a dreamless sleep
Awakening the next day to continue his disingenuous duty.
